Rallycrossing a RWD, nose heavy, V8 equipped, 45 year old chassis?
Doable or embarassment?

A reminder - the 1963 Ford Falcon Sprint was a thing. That existed. It was built to be a rally car. over 50 years ago. You're fine.

What car from '69 were you thinking?
![]() 04/02/2014 at 13:29 |

Hey, that 442's V8 was all-aluminum with survival parts in the trunk, so a little more balanced.... but still awesome.
And that GTO is naturally inspirational.

My cousin actually drives one of the V8 Falcons as a daily driver.... winters and everything. Now I need some steelies though

I love that picture, it's a dream to do that to a 1st gen coupe one day. Now to find the right springs because stock cannot be good enough for hot laps in dirt.

Honestly, that's how I drive when karting and GT5/Forza 3-ing.
=D
Fast in, hard brake, struggle with locked wheels, slow turn, the turn's exit becomes the quarter mile

what 45 yr old v8 RWD vehicle are you taking there?
![]() 04/02/2014 at 14:08 |

I have a 1970 Mustang Sportsroof with a 302 and bracing from its ex-drag car days.

I just don't want to piss off the peeps with the Subarus and EVOs and stuff trying to have a serious time of it.

ALL OF THE THINGS

I believe so, I don't know about the Suburu-ists with their AWD seriousness would take kindly if I'm getting stuck every other turn >_>
![]() 04/02/2014 at 14:13 |

The '70 Mustang would be the best choice I think, since the grille bracing and cross-pan-underseat-between-framerail braces from it's drag car days is mostly in place.

sounds like a win to me.
please have pictures and video

Understood and that's mighty considerate of you. Some folks however take themselves just a bit too seriously. I've autocrossed a worn-out slant six Duster automatic on horrible tires for the fun of it and there was always that one guy that would complain I was just wasting the region's time. Everybody else though seemed to have no problem with it and some thought it was just hilarious.
